Taking place on Wednesday 7 June, 2017, in the beautiful East Winter Garden venue in Canary Wharf, Let’s Get Fizzical was packed with nearly 400 London-based, wine interested visitors.
The CAVA Lounge was situtated in the upper level of the atrium and stood out as the main feature during the event. Tim Atkin MW, Oz Clark and Olly Smith (aka the Three Wine Men) were instrumental in inviting people to enjoy the Cavas on taste and were outstanding advocates of premium Cava to the assembled audience.
During the event each of the Three Wine Men hosted their own pop-up 10 minute tasting for guests, which was an exclusive feature for Cava. They used their time to speak about the Cava method, varietals and explain why consumers should appreciate the premium qualities of Spain’s foremost sparkling wine.
The CAVA Lounge was very much appreciated by visitors, where they could enjoy a flight of three Cavas (Brut NV, Brut Reserva and Rosado) in a relaxed atmosphere, sitting down and enjoying the wines whilst being educated about the diversity and quality of good Cava.
Guests leant that all Cava is made using ‘Traditional method’, the importance of the different ageing classifications and what the three main grapes that make Cava are (macabeo; xerel.lo; parrelada) and what each brings to the blend.
There were also plenty of ideas for food pairings eg tempura asparagus and an exclusive Top 10 Cavas buying guide, as recommended by Three Wine Men.
