Terroja is a vineyard in the valley of the Bitlles river, scarcely two hectares in size, on the intermediate terraces. The soil has special geological characteristics: it’s highly evolved, of an intense reddish colour, with good drainage and a moderately fine texture. There is a limestone calcareous crust at less than a metre deep, with a strong structure and high porosity. The Xarel·lo variety achieves optimum ripeness in this soil, bringing out its varietal typicity and aromatic power.
